Text 9 Feb 1 note Untitled….i still have not came with a name for this one DX

New York….

Such a busy place.

Everyone’s going somewhere, everyone’s got something do, everyone except…

Me.

All alone in this stupid, leaking apartment….

Alone.

Oh brother where did you go?  Why did you leave me?  You were the only one who cared…

No one in this town cares.

No one cares that I’m hurting.

No one cares that I’m crying tears of sadness.

No one cares that I’m alone in this apartment.

No one in this town cares about an eighteen year old girl…

                                                                                                             Suffering…

                                                                                                                                 From cancer…

Wow!  Tokyo!!!  I never could imagine it looking this beautiful!

The girl thought as she walked out of the airport.

It looks way better than what the magazines showed!

Her eyes glowed with excitement.  She took a step forward….

Then two steps back.

She has never gone anywhere alone before.

Oh brother……I wish you were here……

She sighs, then raises her chin.

Remember, starting from scratch.  A brand new beginning.  The  beginning……of a new life.

She takes a deep breath and with her head held high, takes her first step into the new life that awaits her.

“Come on Isamu!  We don’t want to be late for our first day of school!”

“Oh shut your trap!  It’s not my fault that I couldn’t find my left shoe!!!!”

Hollers Isamu to his friend far ahead of him.  He runs as fast as he can to catch up, when he starts to see the school in his sight.  Finally caught up to his friend, he lets out a chuckle

“Hey Haru, you think we’ll finally be off the single list this year?”

            Haru blushes at his words

“I don’t know, I guess we’ll see,” he answers sheepishly.

Both boys close to the school now, gives all the energy they have left, and sprints to the school.

So this is the school I will be attending…..looks kind of…BIG.

She gulps at the thought.

Well, just straighten your legs and start walking.

The girl starts to take a step forward, when suddenly someone runs by her so fast she falls off balance, and lands on her rear end.

“Oww! Hey! What’s the big idea!!!”

She sees that whatever had made her fall had disappeared.

Jerks!

She thinks as she picks herself up and dusts off her rented uniform.

*ring* *ring*

Great, now I’m late for class.

She walks down the empty halls.

So much for a good first impression.

It’s lunch time and our dashing hero’s are eating at a table all their own.

“So have you thought about the teachers offer?” asked Haru

“I don’t know….I just don’t think we’re ready!  There’s something missing from our band, and going to battle of the bands now, it’d be a mistake!”

            “I agree, but what’s missing?”

“I don’t know….I’ve been thinking about it ever since teach gave us the offer….” Isamu lost his train of thought trying to memorize the paper in front of him.

Haru notices the paper and smirks.

“Instead of studying for the algebra test?”

Isamu glares and answers “oh shut it.”

Haru chuckles, as Isamu gets up to empty his try.

On his way to the trash can, something bumps him.  Soon he hears a crash and the sound of someone falling on the tile floor.

            “oww…..well, this seems familiar”

Isamu moves his try aside, and finds a girl sitting on the floor rubbing her sore bottom.

“I’m so sorry! Here let me-”

“No. it’s ok. I can get up mysel-”

Before she could finish her sentence she slips on a banana peel that was originally on Isamu’s try.  Now flat on her face, she gets up and rubes her nose.  Most of the students start to laugh, at her clumsiness.  The girl sighs.

“I think this is officially the worst first day of school I’ve ever had.”

Isamu feeling guilty that this was his fault: the bump, the tray, the banana peel.  The girl is about to get up, when a hand is in her vision of sight, in front of her nose.

            “No allow me”

He finishes with a smile.  The girl stared at him in awe.

Who was this person? And why would he be willing to help her?

A little sparkle gleams from her eye, she smiles, as he helps her up.

“Let’s go get you cleaned up.”

Isamu takes her by the hand and leads her out of the cafeteria.

“I really am sorry about what happened back there.”

Isamu apologized as he tried to clean the food and banana off her face and cloths.

They’re both at the water fountain, the girls just smiles,

“It’s ok.  I’m used to it.”

Isamu, seeing the opportunity for a joke, adds a smirk.

“You mean you’re used to falling in food in cafeteria’s?”

The girl rolls her eyes and sighs

            “No”

Isamu chuckles at his ‘clever’ joke as she finishes.

“I’m used to falling, tripping, losing balance…..being clumsy.”

The girl looks to the floor and sighs.  Isamu, finishing his clean up duty sees the sad look on the girls face.  He smiles, a charming, dorky smile.

“It’s ok to be clumsy, you know.”

His chin hovering over her shoulder, he looks to her and smiles.  His beautiful hazel eyes starting to show.  The girl blushes at this, and quickly looks away.

Wait a minute! Why am I blushing!!???  I barley know this guy and yet…

She loses her train of thought in his eyes staring at her from below.

“Theirs no need to be embarrassed either.”

The girls’ eyes widen, with the surprise of him looking at her from that angle.  He stands up straight, and lends out his hand.

“Come on, you’re going to be late for your next class.”

The girl blushes slightly, trying to hide her face from him, she takes his hand.  They walk down the empty hallway in awkward silence.  Finally Isamu realizes something, and decides to ask the question to break the silence.

            “Hey, I don’t think I got your name….”

            The girl smiles.

            “Hazel” she replies.

            Isamu looks at her blankly.

            “But….your eyes are brown….”

            Hazel grows red with frustration.

            “I am aware of that!”

Isamu laughs at his joke, and waves his hand in defense.

“I know, I know, jk jk”

They both continue down the hall, laughing.  A suspicious glow shining from their eyes.  As they continue to laugh and play and poke each other, only one question clouds their minds…

What is this???

“Hey Isamu!  Wait up!”  Haru hollers as he catches his friend in the crowd of hustle and bustle of students in the hallway going to their last block class.

“Oh, hi Haru.”  Isamu snaps out of his daze, and looks to his friend.  Haru stars at Isamu, waiting for him to answer a silent question in his head.

            “what?”  Isamu answers confused.

“come on!  You’re not going to tell me who that girl was?”

Isamu stars in confusion, until it finally hits him.  Who he was talking about.

“Oh, ah, her? she was just having a bad day and I was…just….helping her out.  That’s all.”  He finishes blushing slightly.

Haru and his perverted ness kicking in decided to play with this.

“helping her with what?”  Haru adds with a smirk.  Isamu thinks a minute then realizes of what and who he was referring.

“WHOA!  HEY!  No, no, no, no, no, no NO!  It is not like that!”

Isamu waving his hands back and forth in front of his face, hoping and praying the red on his face would go away any minute.

            “Sure it’s not.”  Haru taunted.

Isamu stops his hands, keeps his head down and continues to walk down the hall.  His face still red. Haru follows.

“I otta kill you” Isamu kids

            “But I’m your only drummer”

“I can find a new one”

“Not as good as me” Haru adds with a smile.

“Yeah, yeah, come on, let’s get to music class before I kill the best drummer on the planet”

Isamu rustles Haru hair and continues walking, the redness gone from his face. Haru just sighs and grins as he follows his friend to their favorite class.

*ring* *ring*

The bell rings, Isamu and Haru are in their music class waiting for their teacher to enter the room.  Isamu, leaning back in his chair, with his legs on the empty desk in front of him, looks around the room.  Suddenly he sees something that makes him fall off his chair.

Hazel is sitting on the opposite side of the room.

“Hey are you ok?”  Haru asks, helping Isamu up in the process.

“Yeah, yeah, fine.” Isamu answers dusting himself off, looking in Hazels direction.  Haru notices, where he was looking.

            “Is that her?”

“…yeah that’s her.” he said after a pause, trying to keep his pink face hidden.

“Well?  Aren’t you going to go talk to her?”

“Why should I go talk to her?” Isamu answered, his face turning a darker shade of pink.

“Well, you guys are friends aren’t you?  You should go say hello.”

Isamu doesn’t answer, he’s now turning a light shade of red.

“Well, at least introduce her to me.”

            Isamu glares before answering.

“What do you mean by that!”

Haru just smiles and pats him on the back.

            “Just go talk to her.”

Isamu takes a deep breath, and gets up from his chair and walks slowly in her direction.  Haru chuckles to himself.

Now if I can just tell him of about my three year crush…then maybe we can ALL have a happy ending here.

Just as Haru thought that, the music teacher walks in the room.

“Alright, alright, all students take your seats.”

Isamu stopped in his tracks, turns around and walks quickly back to his desk, glaring at Haru as he went to his seat and sat down.

“I didn’t plan on that.”  Haru answers, as he sits toward the teachers direction.

“Now today we will….”  The teacher begins to talk.  But Isamu’s not listening. He’s looking in Hazel’s direction.

Hmm……her hair is just as long as Shizuku’s.  But a different color…it’s brown, not red……

“Isamu…Isamu…Isamu…DUDE!!!”  Haru hollers to snap his friend out his current stupor.

“Huh!?!”  Isamu flinches, then looks around the room.

His glittery, sparkly, world disappeared and turned into the music room.

“Come on the teach wants to talk to us”

Haru puts his hand on Isamu shoulder and points in the direction of the teacher. Isamu gets up and walks with his friend.

“Well, boys have you thought of my offer?” the teacher asks with a smile.  Isamu sighs.

“Well, we really appreciate the offer…but…I just don’t think we’re ready.  There’s something missing from our band, and I don’t think we should go until we find out what it is.”

“That’s fine, it’s your band I wouldn’t want you to go in there not ready, and battle of the bands is still a way’s away. So just keep practicing”  the teacher pats them on the shoulders and smiles.

It was at this time, Haru smiles.

“Speaking of….can we use the practice room?” both boys grin in unison.  The teacher shakes his head, then looks at the smiling boys, and smiles himself.

“You’re gonna get me fired” the teacher chuckled. “but go on.”

Both boys hoop and holler with delight.  And head into the room where they have been practicing in since sophomore year.

“Even if I do get fired….you boys will be worth it.” the teacher smiled and turned back to his class to teach his lesson for the day.

“So what do you want to warm up with?” asked Haru, as he set his symbols in place.

“hmm…..I don’t know Haru…..hey! how about we play an old favorite?” Isamu looks to his partner. Haru looks at him back. Almost as if they were reading minds, Haru knew which song he was talking about.

            “oh! that one!” Haru smiles.

“yeah the one that got us famous!” Isamu strung his guitar.

“you mean the one that got us famous with teach”

            “yeah, yeah whatever, get ready”

            “you start.”

            “ok.”

Isamu starts guitar, on a little solo. Haru comes in on the drums soon after. They both sing in their microphones

            “1, 2, 1, 3!!!”

Isamu and Haru are starting up, and having fun with it. Isamu sings into the mic:

“When I go to sleep I pray, I’m waking up to I got you babe, Like the guy from Groundhog Day, Just wanna live forever this way”

            Both boys sing in unison:

            “Flash back to seventeen”

Isamu continues to sing solo, you tell from his face he’s enjoying every moment of this:

“Got my ass kicked by the football team, Another Loser on the scene, Editor of the chess club fanzine”

Both boys now heading for the cores, goes on a softer beat, both singing:

“I asked you out for losing truth or dare” Isamu closes his eyes, as he continues to sing: “The guys were cracking up ‘til you said” Isamu opens his eyes on cue: “yeah!”

the beat speeds up to normal pace, as they sing the rest of the cores:

“Pinch me, is this real?, I’m on a one way ticket out of loserville, Now I’m off the social flat line, Things are so good that I’m, Taking down my star trek shrine, And you’re more than just my valentine, You’re my ticket outta loserville”

The boys go into music break before the next verse……

            “Miss Hazel?” the teacher calls.

“huh? Coming!” Hazel puts down her book and walks to the teachers desk. The teacher was reading a book himself. When Hazel was close enough, he puts it down and welcomes her.

“may I ask you to do something for me?” the teacher asks as innocent as possible.

            “yes?”

“would you go and get me that book over there in that closet?” the teacher points to a closet right next to where Isamu and Haru are practicing.

“yes sir!” Hazel walks to the closet like an obedient little girl, but as she’s getting the book….she hears Isamu and Haru playing. Curious about what the sound is, she follows it. the teacher seeing this lets out a chuckle.

“Project match maker is in session.” he smirks and follows her.

The second time they sing the cores they are still having a good time singing the cores together:

“Pinch me, is this real?, I’m on a one way ticket out of loserville, Now I’m off the social flat line, Things are so good that I’m, Taking down my star-trek shrine……”

Haru hits the symbol hard for effect. The drum and guitar soften to a down beat, Isamu closes his eyes. He’s face has turn from fun to hurt. You could tell he was putting all his emotions in the words he sings, he open his eyes and sing into the mic:

“You blew me out on a Sunday night, You were bored to tears pretending, Knew, what you wanted and I’m nothing like the, guy in your happy ending” Haru joins in the emotional tug of the song and both boys sing:

“Well you were wrong to lead me on, Now in the night I wake up screaming, Where the hell did I go wrong?, Where’s Scotty when you need him?”

the hurtful and sad faces, disappear in a flash! And the playful band members return for the last cores, they sing together:

“Pinch me, is this real?, I’m on a one way ticket back to loserville, Heading for the social flat line, Things are so that bad, I’m dusting off my star trek shrine, This is where it ends and I can taste the glory, How can I depend, On a better story?, Made it, blew it, couldn’t save it, Think about her all the time, It’s like I never had her valentine, So I guess I better kiss goodbye to my ticket outta loserville” the guitar and drums have a solo to the end. Ending at the same time.

            “phew!” Isamu gave a hoot.

“that was awesome Isamu!!!” Haru shouted with glee.

“I think that’s the best we’ve sang it!”

Isamu and Haru clapped hands together in a high five. Hazel just stares in awe. Wow! I never would have thought……

“good aren’t they?” the teacher suddenly said behind her. Hazel jumped back a minute, caught off guard, then realized it was the teacher and breathed a sigh of relief. Then turned back and looked at the bays goofing around and smiled.

“yeah” she pauses and then looks to the teacher, such yearning in her eyes as she said

            “their great!”

the teacher looks into the girls eyes and gets an idea, an idea completely on a guess, but anyway….

“why don’t you join them?” he says in a comforting voice.

Hazels eyes get wide with surprise. She looks at the floor, and ponders the thought. Well, I’ve always wanted to be in a band……but would they let me in??? and what about my- before she could finish her thought, she was thrown for a loop. Literally. The teacher (tired of waiting) pushed her into the practice room and shut the door. The boys were still goofing off, so they didn’t even noticed she was in there. So she ran as quickly as she could to the first place to hide….which happened to be behind the piano right next to the boys goofing off.

Frustration and fear clouded her mind. I can’t believe he did that! and he’s a teacher! Grrr! Oh god! What do I do now? If they see me……oh god, what if they ask me to sing for them!?! Oh, no! I can’t do that……. her thoughts were interrupted by hearing them talk again.

“hmm….seems we have plenty time for another one” Says Isamu looking at the clock.

“ok, what one?” Haru asks, waiting for Isamu’s answer.

Isamu thinks a while, then comes up with an idea.

“hey, how about the one you wrote?”

Haru blushes “no! not that one!”

“aww come on Haru! It’s really good! And your great singing it!” Isamu argues.

“I’m not as good as you. You sing it!” Haru urges

Isamu looks at his friend in great earnest and says

“you sing it great! You have the deep soft voice, I can’t do that. please Haru? No one’s watching, come on let’s sing this one” Isamu hops down from the drummers stand. Haru sighs.

“alright fine” Haru gets his mic ready. Isamu readies his guitar and starts in on an acoustic tune. Haru takes a deep breath and sings into the mic:

“Step one you say we need to talk, He walks you say sit down it’s just a talk, He smiles politely back at you, You stare politely right on through”

Haru adds a soft drum tone to the mix as he continues to sing:

“Some sort of window to your right, As he goes left and you stay right, Between the lines of fear and blame, You begin to wonder why you came”

Haru and Isamu’s interments Have a louder beat going into the chorus, as Haru sings:

“Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend, Somewhere along in the bitterness, And I, would have stayed up with you all night, Had I known how to save a life”

Hazel, almost as if, out of instinct. Quietly gets on the chair and plays the piano in a beautiful soft tune as the boys soften their instruments to the last word Haru sings. They hear the piano in awe they decide to just go with it. both boy’s stare at each other and grin.

They have found what was missing in their band.

Continuing with the song, Haru and Isamu soften their instruments again so Haru can sing, but the piano is Beautiful and almost sounds like it’s playing to Haru’s words:

“Let him know that you know best, Cause after all you do know best, Try to slip past his defense, Without granting innocence”

you can tell that Haru is putting all his emotion into this one line:

“Lay down a list of what is wrong, The things you’ve told him all along, And pray to God he hears you, And pray to God he hears you……

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend, Somewhere along in the bitterness, And I would have stayed up with you all night, Had I known how to save a life”

The music break before the next verse, they all work together. Instruments combined. You would have thought they’ve been playing together for years. Haru smiles at Hazel, as if giving him confidence for the next line:

“As he begins to raise his voice, You lower yours and grant him one last choice, Drive until you lose the road, Or break with the ones you’ve followed, He will do one of two things, He will admit to everything, Or he’ll say he’s just not the same, And you’ll begin to wonder why you came”

They all gang in together having a great time with it:

“Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend, Somewhere along in the bitterness, And I would have stayed up with you all night, Had I known how to save a life”

On the other side of the room a familiar teacher is watching their progress, he grins. “well looks like you’ve found what’s missing boys” he chuckles as he continues to watch them perform.

They’re at the last chorus round, and everyone gives it their all, as Haru sings:

“Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend, Somewhere along in the bitterness, And I would have stayed up with you all night, Had I known how to save a life”

the piano gets a solo, as he sing the last line again:

            “How to save a life”

then the piano, and guitar fades as he sings last line one more time:

            “How to save a life”

The piano and guitar are gone now, and it’s just Haru on the drums, and he’s finishes off with a down beat.

Both boy’s are quiet for a while. Hazel is looking for another place to hide.

            There is none.

            I can’t believe I did that! now they think I suck! I ruined their song……why can’t I just……

Hazel’s thoughts are interrupted by Isamu finally deciding to say something.

            “where have you been hiding?”

            Hazel hesitates and blushes slightly.

“well, I was hiding under the piano until the song played….”

            Isamu cut her off again.

“no, no, no. I mean where have you been hiding as in, why didn’t you tell me you played piano?”

“and plays well I might add” adds Haru jumping off the platform, with Isamu.

            “well….” Hazel blushes.

“I’ve been able to play ever since I was five”

“it was amazing!” Isamu added ecstatically.

Hazel stares at them in disbelief. She knew she could play, but not as well as their praising.

            “well….thank you” she bows sheepishly.

“my brother taught me” she smiles at the memories of him teaching her how to play.

“well, your brother must have been a musician or something” Haru looks to Isamu and smiles.

It at this point, both boys got the same idea……

but their was one more thing she had to prove.

Isamu decides to ask the question.

            “how well, can you sing?”

            Hazels eyes widen in horror.

Gack! Oh no! I knew he’d ask me that! Oh, what do I do? What do I do!?!?!

            “umm I can sing well…..but……”

Hazel gulps back her nervousness and finishes.

            “i have terrible stage fright…”

the boys look at each other for a minute, then Isamu answers

            “hmm…you too huh?”

            Hazel cocks her head confused.

“Haru here has the same problem. Though i’ll admit he’s come a long way from who he was before.”

Isamu explains and pats Haru’s shoulder and smiles.

“that not a problem! If I can get Haru to sing more comfortably on the stage I get you to do the same thing”

            Isamu finishes with a smile.

“yeah we’ll help you out” Haru follows as he smiles.

Hazel wonders why there are so determined to get her in their band.

What is so special about me that they are practically bending backwards for me to be in their band!?

Isamu jogs to the light switch, and turns all the lights out.

            Hazel panics.

“what’s going on!? Why are the lights off!??”

“don’t panic Hazel….her name is Hazel right?” Haru asks Isamu

Isamu answers with a smile “yeah it is”

“okay Hazel, it’s okay. This is how Isamu cured my stage fright. What we are doing is making you comfortable. You can’t see us right?”

            “n-no” Hazel replies hesitantly

Isamu decides to take the rains, “okay good. Now just ignore the fact that you’re in the dark. Just imagine that you’re in a place you want to be. anywhere, it could be anywhere in the world. Picture that place then pick a song, and start singing it.”

“umm….i’m not good singing Acapulco….” Hazel shyly spoke as she closed her eyes.

“that doesn’t matter, just pick a song and start singing. I know you can do it, we’re not here and neither of us are going to say anything more right?” Isamu turned to Haru

            “right” Haru said smiling.

“so just start when you are ready, remember; pick a place, pick a song, and sing it.”  Isamu said as he went into silence. Haru and Isamu waited patiently for her to start.

Oh God….what do I do!? Wait…just calm down….think of a place you would want to be….anywhere…

Hazel’s mind drifted into the past. To the wonderful memories of her brother playing the piano, and her wanting to learn…

She smiled.

She had found her place she wished she could be.

Now for a song….what song should I sing…it should be one I know well….I know what I’ll sing.

With that Hazel knew what she was going to do. She took a deep breath and started to sing the lyrics.

“Of all the things I’ve believed in, I just want to get it over with”

her voice is soft, deep, and rich. Her heart pours out into the lyrics like a water to a waterfall. So much passion.

“Tears from behind my eyes, But I do not cry, Counting the days that pass me by. I’ve been searching deep down in my soul, Words that I’m hearing are starting to get old…”

Haru and Isamu smile. They both know that she is full of potential.

“It feels like I’m starting all over again, The last three years were just pretend, And I said, Goodbye to you, Goodbye to everything I thought I knew, You were the one I loved, The one thing that I tried to hold on to,”

Hazel takes a deep breath and starts the next lines.

“I still get lost in your eyes, And it seems that I can’t live a day without you, Closing my eyes and you chase my thoughts away, To a place where I am blinded by the light, But it’s not right”

As she sings the course again Haru Whispers to Isamu,

“hey Isamu”

“yeah?”

“you thinking what I’m thinking?”

Isamu smiles as he answers “yeah…” he pauses, closes his eyes and basks in her beautiful sound.

“she’s perfect”

Hazel smiles. She’s doing what she loves, And just like in her memory she wishes her brother could hear her now…

Accomplishing her first step to being a rock star.

She’s nearing the end of the song with the final course, and then she sings the last bit with such falling grace.

“And when the stars fall, I will lie awake, You’re my shooting star”

When the music stop playing in her head, she took a deep breath and said

“well, that’s it. Michelle Branch Goodbye to you…what you think?” she asks hesitantly.

Haru walks over to the lights and turns them on. Isamu looks Hazel straight in the eye, as he walked over to her.

“I’m sorry…” he said gloomily

Hazel’s heart dropped a few feet, at the thought of the answer he’s about to give.

Isamu’s frown turned into a smile and said happily “but you are going have to live with it, you are now a part of our band! Congratulations!”

Text 9 Feb 51 notes Claws, Teeth, and Fur (unfinished)

Chapter 1

A small cabin sits  in a forest somewhere in San Francisco. It was a hushed night, the family inside the cabin were having a nice quiet dinner for three. Smiles went around the table as they ate in happiness of their own company.

Little did they know…

That on this night…

Blood was going to be spelt tonight.

Trees surrounded the cabin, and behind those trees were dark mysterious figures. Some had orange fur, some had white fur, some even had brown fur. Some of their ears were different, some were long, and some were small pointy. These mysterious figures were different from most people.

They weren’t animals

But they weren’t human either…

They were both.

As they all keep an eye on their target, the family is blissfully unaware of the danger they were in for. One of the dark figures nodded his head  signaling to the others, that it was time to move. They all stayed close to the ground, crawled, slyly, closer…closer…closer…

SNAP!

The little girl who was eating her carrots like a good girl, jerked. she turned around and looked outside the window…

She saw the grass moving.

Even if it was just slightly, she could see it as if it were moving violently.

“Daddy…something’s out there…” she said in a scared whisper.

The little girl didn’t have a good feeling about this, her great intuition told her so.

Her father looked out the window, and before he could even say ‘run’; a SHINK of a knife was heard and a knife went right through his heart.

The mother screamed in terror. The little girl started to shake. To her night cap to her summer PJ’s to her clawed feet. The mother did the only thing she knew what to do.

Hide her daughter.

The mother wasted no time. She picked up her daughter who was frozen in fear to the cellar in the kitchen. It looked like a normal floor tiling until you notice the handle to open the cellar. No one would be able to notice it, unless you lived there.

The mother put her daughter down and lifted the door up.

“listen darling, you have to go in the cellar and do not come out. No matter what you hear or see. You understand?” the mother spoke quickly, firm, but caring.

“but momma, I don’t want-” the daughter was about to object before the mother cut her off.

“no buts! You go in there now!” she said as she pushed her daughter to go down the stars.

The daughter ran down to the bottom of the cellar; and as she so, her sleeping cap bumped the door of the cellar falling off to reveal orange kitten ears.

The mother shut the door, and whispered through it “I’m sorry darling but this is for your own good.” She paused because her voice was cracking from the tears but she finished what she was going to say “we love you so much, no matter what you look like…you are still our daughter…and you always will.” She said as a tears fell on the door. “now stay down there and don’t make a sound!” she finished hurriedly as she ran to the block the front door, but on her way she found her husband on the floor dead. She ran to him in tears, she knelt down beside him and held him in her arms. Tears wiping the blood away from his face, as she cries.

The door which has been kept at bay because of the advanced locks the father put on the door, to keep unwanted visitors out; finally broke from under the pressure. As the dark mysterious figures walked in the house and searching for something, the one known to be called ‘Leader’; tall, orange fur, yellow sickening eyes, small sharp fangs, long fluffy tail,  and claws sharp enough to cut through tree bark like it was nothing. He walks over to the crying mother and picks her up by the scruff of the neck.

“where is she?” he spoke in a deep, threatening, but calm voice.

The mother struggled to say something, “I don’t know”

Leader didn’t like her answer. He glared into her eyes and slammed her against a near by wall. The mother Screamed in pain. Leader was even firmer than before, “I said where is she!?” Leader asked impatiently.

The mother stared him straight in the eyes, and answered the same as before, “I said, I. Don’t. Know.”

Leader just chuckled, “well, then you won’t mind us searching for her then huh?”

“go ahead, but I promise you. You will not find her here.” The mother cleverly lied.

“well, then I guess there’s no use for you then? What a pitty…” Leader said longnly as he grazed his paw on her skin, “you have such a pretty face.”

The mother was terrified of dying, but she knew that this was her time to go. Their was no way out of this, and besides…this way…she could see her husband in heaven…

She closed her eyes as she prepared for the worst. Leader sheered his claws, and grinned big. Pure pleasure bleeding from his eyes. His claws swooped in for the kill.

‘I’ll see you in heaven soon baby…goodbye Kita…” she thought.

SLASH

The mother was dead, as she dropped lifelessly on the floor. Bleeding from her throat.

Leader just kept going like it was nothing, “NOW EVERYONE LISTEN UP! FIND THIS GIRL! TURN THIS PLACE INSIDE OUT! NOW GO!!!”

All the others listened to him and started to search harder. They looked everywhere.

But thankfully they never saw the handle to the door of the cellar.

The little girl stays down there shaking squeezing her orange tail for dear life for comfort. Tears of fear fell down her face as she waited for the noise to stop.

A few hours later, the noise finally stopped.

The little girl shakily got up and walked up the stares, and opened the door.

The house was trashed.

Dishes broken, wallpaper torn, machinery dismembered, and tiles misplaced. She started to look for her parents.

“mom! Dad! Where are you!? Mommy? Daddy?” she hollered over and over until she didn’t have to look no further…

She saw them…

Dead.

She walked slowly to the dining room where they were slain. She fell to her knees half way because she couldn’t believe what she saw. Her legs fell weak, she could not get up. Silent tears fell down her face, as she crawled to her mother’s body. Her tail trailed her mother’s blood as she reached closer to her. When she was right next to her mother’s lifeless corps, she stared in disbelief.

“oh mommy…why did you have to die? Why? Why? Mommy…” her tears fell on her mothers blouse. She lifted her mother’s arm, and moved it to where it felt like her mother was hugging her. “please come back…please mommy…I promise I’ll eat all my spinach, I’ll listen to you more when it comes to the forest, I’ll start reading more, I’ll even be more tolerant of my piano lessons….PLEASE COME BACK!!!!” the little girl screamed as she cried in her dead mother’s arms.

Beep, Beep, Beep. Went the alarm in Kita’s room.

Kita slowly opened her eyes, and sat up in bed. She rubbed the bridge of her nose and sighed.

‘why do I keep remembering that night? it’s been 9 years now…you would think it would be at least less hurtful when I remember it…’ Kita thought as she Arched her back into a stretch action, and yawned. Her arms and hands stretched out as if she had claws. She slowly crawled over to the clock to turn it off. She knew she had to get up, but instead she flopped back down on the bed face down motionless.

‘bloody annoying thing…’ she thought as she laid there, not wanting to get up.

‘do I have to go to school? Why can’t I just stay home and-’ her thoughts were interrupted by the dream she had just had. Her mother’s dead body was remembrance enough why she went to school.

‘that’s right…I promised her that I would get an education…heh she always thought education was everything…while dad believed that dreams…were everything…’ She smiled as she thought of her parents. She sat up once more, grabbed her glasses, got out of bed, and went to her closet.

‘now…what to wear today…eh this looks good enough’  she grabbed a green commando tank top and her red plaid skirt. She walked over to her cabinets and grabbed a random pair of black pants. She threw her clothes on the bed and started to put them on one by one. After she had everything on, she slipped her blue and white striped shoes on. With no socks. Her tail swished to her movements. She walked over to the mirror and took a good look at herself. Her deep green eyes stared back at her as she looked at everything she had on. Kita nodded in approval, until she saw her tail and ears…

‘I wish I didn’t have to hide my ears and tail…’ she thought as she sighed and tucked in her tail in her pants, and picked a random hat from her hat rack. It was her black Brixton hat that her father gave her on her ninth birthday. Kita took good last look at herself again, and shrugged her peach flesh shoulders.

‘now as long as it won’t thunder…I’ll be okay…’ she thought as she threw her back pack on for school, and walked through the kitchen of her apartment. She grabbed a breakfast burrito that she had made previous to grab on the go, and trotted to the door. She opened the door and closed it. Locking the door behind her, she jogged down the stairs. This Apartment wasn’t anything in comparison to the home she had in the forest, but it was better than nothing. After the incident, of course she had to move somewhere else. The land lord was kind enough to let her stay with him until she was old enough to buy her own place. So now she lives in this tiny apartment in San Francisco. The Land Lord passed away last winter, the apartment building is ran by someone else now…someone less nice, and crude.

“Kita your rent-” Said the new landlord as she was running to the door.

“In the mail box Timmy” Kita huffed as she ran out the door so she wouldn’t be late for School.

ugh i hate the new landlord! he’s soooo stingy…and to think he was related to grandpa Jim…’ the aggravation on her face dissipated at the thought of the old Landlord.

‘oh Grandpa Jim…i miss him so much….why is it everyone i get close to…dies?’ she thought with sorrowful longing as she started to remember how he found her in the first place….

her memory begins the night her parents were murdered, she knew that she had to honor their wishes and go find somewhere safe to hide. she knew she could not stay at the cabin, as much as she wanted to…she had to leave.

she slowly starts to walk away from the cabin, through the forest, into the city. her sullen walk turned into a jog as the weather turned from starry sky to cloudy rain. tears began to fall down her face all the while her ears sown to her tail were getting soaked from the tears above the clouds. she huffed as she started to get tired, halfway into the city she found an ally. she dragged her exhausted feet into the ally way and sat against the brick wall. her knees up to her chest as she began to cry more harder than before. her tail curled around her feet and her ears flopped down in sadness.

meanwhile and old man walks past the ally with some store supplies in one hand, and an umbrella in the other. he stopped in his tracks when he heard the sound of a crying scared little child.

Text 27 Jan 5 notes Baggage.

I knew where she had to be, the only place she would go to die…
The forest outside of town.
I ran
Even though my feet ached and begged me to stop, But I would not take no for an answer. I ran through the damp sidewalks, as my shoes make a splashing sounds. Without looking I ran across the street, trying to make up for time I took a short cut trough the brush. Thorns stabbed me like hundreds of tiny needles. The brush finally leads to the open field right before the forest. We played here as children I remember, in this field and in the forest. Our laughter filled my head as I searched for our thinking spot. the “thinking hill” we called it. We would go there to think of stuff as kids. Going into adult hood, it became our thinking hill of responsibility. It’s where we would make all our big decisions. The decisions like: am I going to date him? Where am I going to go in life? Will I ever leave here and how? What am I going to do if this means I’m infertile? Am I going to continue? This is where I want to die…when it gets bad…

we were always there for each other through these decisions, I didn’t understand after all we have been through together…how she could keep this from me!? Why!? We’ve shared everything…why wouldn’t she tell me about this? Why…
I finally reach the thinking hill and caught my breath as I saw her there. She sat knees to her chest, as if she was trying to talk herself out of it. I sighed and walked over to her and sat down. She kept staring into the trees. Her eyes said she had to do it, but her tears said she didn’t want to.
“you don’t have to do this you know…” I say leaving her room to defend herself.
“yes I do” she said in her accent. I called it her accent cause it was nicer than saying that she had a speech impediment. I liked it though. I could understand her, and thought it was even cute. So I would tell people that it was an accent so she felt better…and I thought it sounded cool.
“no you don’t.” I said firm. I was going to talk her out of it if it killed me.
“yes I do!” she said firmer.
Silence.
Tears started to fall, down her face and mine.
“I’ve could have helped you, you know?” I said through tears.
She said nothing. She just kept staring straight ahead.
“we’ve been here for each other since we were kids…we’ve told each other everything! Why wouldn’t you tell me!? Why wouldn’t you let me help you!?” I let myself go. I couldn’t take it anymore.
“I didn’t want you involved in my problems…this my burden not yours…” she finally spoke.
“yeah but this burden, I could have helped you carry it! You didn’t have to carry it yourself!” my eyes were a raging water fall of tears.
She kept silent not knowing what to say or refusing to continue talking, I wasn’t sure at the time.
“what about the baby!? Hmm!? What’s she going to without her mother!? You just…you can’t do this!” I screamed.
“the baby will be fine without me.” She replied with so much confidence.
“I beg to differ!” I raged as I stood up and started to pace.
“please sit down sis” she encouraged, catching my sleeve and pulling on it.
I huffed and sat down again, silence once again filled the air. When I thought I could finally
speak to where I be understood through my crying, I kept the conversation going.
“what good is a sis if you can’t even tell me your deepest secret?” I finally said.
“you were a good sis. You were there for me. Whenever I need someone to help throughout the
pregnancy, holding my hand throughout my life, or when I simply wanted the company. You
were there in a milasecond and not hesitating.”
“I just don’t understand…why are you giving up!? They can help you if you just let them!” I followed up to her words.
“they have helped me…they helped me long enough.” She said still staring into the trees.
“wait…how long has this been going on?” I spoke with horror at the thought that she has kept his a secret longer that she’s letting on.
She sighed then said “fifteen years”
“fifteen years!? But wait…that’s when…” then it dawned on me. Fifteen years ago was when she first met me…we were both five. She’s been carrying this since she was five years old!
“you mean…all this time…you have had this…you’ve been carrying this around with you?” I said in astonishment.
She nodded.
“why…just tell me why…why now?” I spoke quietly afraid of the answer.
She turned to me and stared me in the eyes and spoke calm and clean. “it’s getting bad. It’s getting to where I can’t even barely get up in the morning…the coughing, the short of breath, the blood…all of it…it’s getting unbearable. I didn’t want you to see me like that, I didn’t want my daughter to see me like this…I wanted to die where no one can see me die. This place holds so many memories, good and bad. And that’s how I wanted to die, remembering those memories.” She then turned to the forest and stood up, I stood up too. She then gave me the biggest tightest hug I have ever gotten from her. I held her tight.
“it’s my time to go sis” she whispered as she let me go and turned to walk away. “I’ll always be watching, take good care of her.” She said as showed me a smile and continued to walk towards the forest.
I wanted to go after her…but something stops me…I scream her name, and beg her to come back. But she kept walking until she disappears into the forest never to be seen again.

Crying the whole way there, I walk to her apartment. I walk up to the stares stopping every so often to have a crying fit and continuing to the seventh floor to room 557. I look for the hideaway key under the door, and it was there like always. Always there near the door so I could grab it and come in whenever I wanted. I unlocked the door and opened it to walk in. her apartment was like always. Clean, tighy, well kept, and filled with all sorts of calming aromas. I walk to the baby’s room to find that she was sound asleep. I smile, and then I fumbled across a note tapped to the crib. I take it off and read the note with astonishment and awe. My knees felt weak, when I finished, and started to cry uncontrollably again. I couldn’t believe she did this…all this time…she had a plan all along……

Dear Cassey,
Ever since I was five I was diagnosed with cancer…I never thought that my life would end as soon as it began. I thought I was done for, until I met you. You gave me the strength to keep fighting until this day. Once more I decided that I would be there for you like you have for me. I’m so sorry I never told you. But I didn’t want you to think of me fragile or fear that I would die any moment. I wanted you to remember me as a normal human being, like you,. We have been through thick and thin you and I, and it shows as you come here to my apartment to check on my child. I have one more confession I have to make. This child, that you see in this crib. It was meant to be yours all along. When you told me that you couldn’t have any more children it killed me, and thought that there had to be a way to fix this. And I figured out a way. I knew that I was too sick to give birth and raise the child on my own. So I had decided that I would give birth, love and care for it, until the day of my death and then I would give her to you. You were right, I didn’t want kids…but it wasn’t until I had this little one did I realize why you wanted one so bad. And I too fell in love with her smile. Nothing I had done for her was fake, I actually love and cared for her like my own, but she is your now to love and hold. Also now you have a piece of me wherever you go. Just please do one thing for me. Tell her about me. Don’t ever let her forget me. Because I do love her, and I want her to still remember who her real mother was. K? I have to go now but never fear. I’m always here. And even though we were never real sisters…I always thought of you as one even so.
Good luck and best wishes,
Meggy.

She did all of this…for me? I couldn’t believe it…but I know now why she did everything she did. And now as I pick her up from her crib to hold her, I will never let her forget her real mother. I will always take the best care of her. Always.
“I guess it’s just you and me now huh? Little Meggy? Don’t worry, I’ll take care of you. and that’s a promise.”

Made by the same people who did the quiet place.
The last time they made one it was great.
This is incredible.

Crying. Shaking. But ready for sleep.
